Electrical Project Engineer - Koch Industries, Inc (Wichita, KS)

Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom. Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC is currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our terminals operations team in Wichita, KS. Responsibilities include: Ensure a safe and reliable electrical system that is compliant with all applicable codes and regulations Provide technical support to maintenance teams for trouble-shooting and repair of electrical equipment Provide project engineering/management support to electrical projects Assess facility power availability and reliability; develop and execute strategies for optimization Develop and execute electrical equipment reliability programs at the plant sites Develop and implement requirements for power systems and electrical equipment documentation Provide consultation to all facilities and Koch Fertilizer projects on power and electrical equipment applications Develop power and energy use measures and management strategies to optimize; this includes daily energy use and management strategies as well as coordinating with the plants and process engineering to identify long term configuration optimization strategies Requirements: Must be able to travel and enter terminal & plant operating sites to access and inspect equipment. This includes utilizing ladders and platforms in excess of 100 feet, entering confined spaces and being capable of utilizing all required personal protective equipment Must be able to support terminals & plants which are in continuous operation Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs 5+ years experience in industrial engineering or technical roles relating to power and electrical equipment design and management Knowledgeable of high voltage equipment Project Management experience Ability to provide direction to others and work in an operating plant environment Strong communication skills Able to identify needs and opportunities and work independently to achieve goals Must be willing and able to travel 40% of the time Must be able to enter plant operating sites to access electrical equipment and use all required PPE Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Preferred: Electrical Equipment Reliability Management experience Applicant of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Experience measuring and managing facility level reliability and power usage We are an equal opportunity employer.
